The Healing Hive Initiative
The Healing Hive Initiative is more than a beekeeping program—it is an opportunity to discover purpose, build confidence, and experience the wonder of God's creation through the remarkable world of honey bees.
At Jo's House, we believe that some of life's greatest lessons are learned with our hands in the work of creation. Beekeeping is more than a hobby; it teaches patience, responsibility, stewardship, perseverance, and an appreciation for the intricate design God has woven into the natural world.
Whether you've always wanted to keep bees or have never opened a hive before, this program is designed for you.
Each participant is paired with an experienced mentor who walks alongside them throughout their beekeeping journey. Together, you'll learn every aspect of responsible beekeeping—from installing your first colony and performing hive inspections to harvesting honey and preparing your bees for each new season. Your mentor will visit your apiary each month, providing hands-on instruction, encouragement, and the confidence to succeed.
To remove as many barriers as possible, participants receive the essential equipment needed to begin, including their own hive, protective gear, and the tools required to care for their bees. You'll also have access to Jo's House honey extraction and processing equipment, allowing you to harvest and bottle your own honey without the expense of purchasing specialized equipment.
But the true impact reaches far beyond honey.
There is something deeply rewarding about caring for a living colony, watching it thrive, and harvesting honey produced by bees you've learned to steward. Along the way, you'll develop practical skills, spend meaningful time outdoors, connect with others who share your passion, and gain a deeper appreciation for God's incredible creation.
The Healing Hive Initiative is about growing more than healthy hives. It's about helping people discover new confidence, lifelong skills, meaningful community, and the joy that comes from working with God's creation.
Whether your goal is to provide honey for your family, support local pollinators, teach your children, or simply embrace a new adventure, we'd love to help you begin your beekeeping journey.
